Gaithiri graduated from Nanyang Polytechnic with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy in 2007. She was awarded by the Singapore Dental Association for achieving the best clinical performance in her cohort. With a thirst for knowledge and keen interest in upgrading herself, Gaithiri,went on to further her studies and obtained a Bachelor of OralHealth from the University of Melbourne in 2009.
Since then Gaithiri has worked both in the government and private sector providing gum treatment for adults and various dental treatment for young children.
In 2012, Gaithiri was made an adjunct lecturer in the department of Dental Hygiene and Therapy at Nanyang Polytechnic. In 2015 , she joined Nanyang Polytechnic as a full time lecturer, while keeping a part time role in Canaan Dental.
Gaithiri believes in empowering young children and parents in obtaining optimal oral health with a focus on preventive dentistry. She is also passionate in treating patients with periodontal (gum) disease and empowering them with home-care skills to complement the treatment that she has provided, so that the patients will have the best possible treatment results.
