Shay Enn completed his Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy and graduated as an Oral Health Therapist from Nanyang Polytechnic. However his quest for more in depth training and knowledge brought him to further studies in the University of Newcastle (Australia) where he graduated with Distinction.
As an Oral Health Therapist, Shay has worked at the Health Promotion Board treating children who are in primary and secondary schools. He has also worked in the private sector providing primarily gum treatment to adults.
In 2018, Shay was made a part-time adjunct lecturer in the department of Dental Hygiene and Therapy at Nanyang Polytechnic while holding onto a full time position in Canaan. He teaches operative techniques of teeth restorations to students who are training to become oral health therapists.
Shay believes in empowering patients with the knowledge of good home care, and motivating his patients to maintain good oral hygiene. Shay works closely with the Canaan team of dentists and hygienists, looking after the patients’ periodontal health and supporting the dentists in their orthodontic and Invisalign treatments.
Outside work, Shay enjoys assembling plastic models from model figure building kits, especially those depicting robots. In his free time, Shay also used to volunteer in nursing homes providing free dental scaling to the residents.
