Basheerah
Basheerah is a dedicated dental professional with a strong background in dental hygiene and therapy. A graduate of Nanyang Polytechnic, where she was on the Director’s List for three semesters and received sponsorship from the Health Promotion Board (HPB), she has over six years of experience in both public and private dental settings, specialising in pediatric dentistry and periodontics.
During her four years with the School Dental Service, Basheerah developed a keen ability to work with young children, including those with special needs. Her compassionate and gentle approach helps minimise anxiety, ensuring that each patient’s experience is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. Since transitioning to private practice, she has continued to refine her expertise in managing a broad range of dental conditions, particularly focusing on periodontal health.
Basheerah’s treatment philosophy revolves around providing gentle, patient-centred care that prioritises comfort and addresses both immediate and long-term oral health needs. She is especially effective in treating children and individuals who may feel apprehensive about dental visits.
In addition to her clinical practice, Basheerah is passionate about advancing dental research. She currently serves as a research assistant at the National University of Singapore, where she investigates the relationship between cardio-metabolic diseases and oral health—aligning with her commitment to staying at the forefront of evidence-based care.
Outside of work, Basheerah enjoys reading, travelling, and spending quality time with her family.
