Canaan Dental’s 29th Anniversary Conference: Beyond the Mouth, Beyond Expectations

Share:

On 8 November 2025, Canaan Dental proudly marked a meaningful milestone with our 29th Annual Company Conference, held at Crowne Plaza, Singapore. Bringing together approximately 35 team members across all roles (dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, front desk receptionists, and lab technicians) this single-day event was a celebration of how far we have come and a reaffirmation of where we are headed.

Guided by the theme “Beyond the Mouth: Integrative Dental Care,” the conference reflected our commitment to viewing oral health as an integral part of overall wellbeing, while recognising that exceptional patient care is built on strong teamwork, shared purpose, and continuous professional development.

Kicking Off with Connection: Human BINGO

The conference opened on an energetic and interactive note with a Human BINGO ice-breaker, immediately setting the tone for collaboration and inclusivity. Participants were encouraged to move around the room to find colleagues who matched specific descriptions in each BINGO box, having them sign off once identified.

The activity sparked conversation across roles and departments, helping team members learn more about one another in an exciting, engaging way. Adding a friendly competitive edge, the first participant to complete a full BINGO was rewarded with an extra lucky draw ticket, generating excitement and laughter throughout the room.

Learning, Reflection, and Culture-Building

The day was thoughtfully structured into two distinct halves:

  • a half-day conference focused on learning, reflection, and alignment, followed by

  • a half-day of team-building activities, reinforcing collaboration and trust beyond the clinical setting.

This balance ensured that the event was not only educational but also culture-building, which is a key priority for Canaan Dental as we continue to grow together as one team.

One of the highlights of the conference was hearing from our dentists and team members. Sessions were led by Dr Jocelyn, Dr Noah, and Dr Joshua, alongside impactful presentations from dental assistants Irish and Weili. Their perspectives underscored a shared message: integrative dental care is not delivered by individuals alone, but by cohesive teams who understand each other’s roles and strengths.

Key learning points included:

  • Patient experience is as important as clinical excellence
  • How oral health both affects and reflects overall systemic health
  • The evolving role of dentistry in areas such as sleep apnea and oral health
  • The critical role dental assistants play in ensuring efficiency, safety, and high clinical standards throughout the dental workflow

These discussions reinforced the importance of evidence-based dentistry and strong clinical governance, reminding us that every role contributes directly to patient outcomes.

A Standout Moment: Teamwork Takes the Stage

One of the most memorable moments of the day came at the conclusion of Irish and Weili’s presentation. In a surprise finale, they coordinated a short, energetic dance performance featuring several of our dental assistants and receptionists.

Wearing superhero masks, the team took to the stage and performed to Taylor Swift’s The Fate of Ophelia. The performance brought the room together in laughter and applause, perfectly symbolising the conference’s core message: every team member plays a vital role, and together, we are stronger!

Team Building Beyond the Conference Room

The second half of the day focused on team bonding through a professionally facilitated team-building programme by UPlay. The activities were designed to strengthen communication, trust, and problem-solving, reinforcing how effective collaboration directly translates into smoother workflows and improved patient experience.

Recognising Excellence and Celebrating Milestones

The conference concluded on a celebratory note with a lucky draw and the presentation of the Canaan Awards, recognising individuals who exemplified dedication, teamwork, and excellence.

Awards included:

  • Canaan Star Award – Most Valuable Player
  • Most Appreciated Awards across:
    • Providers
    • Dental Assistants
    • Receptionists

These moments of recognition reflected Canaan Dental’s appreciation for every role within the organisation and the collective effort behind our success.
